About the Brigade

Every year millions of cookie and cracker wrappers end up in dumpsters and landfills across Canada. TerraCycle® is working to provide a second life for these wrappers and implement environmentally-friendly solutions for this waste.

To reward you for your environmental achievements, TerraCycle is excited to bring you the Milestone Program, in which you automatically earn rewards for collecting all types of cookie and cracker wrappers. You can also use this Brigade program as a fundraising tool for a non-profit or school of your choice, or as a way to earn TerraCycle products.

And like our other Brigade programs, you'll also earn TerraCycle points per unit of waste you recycle. Each wrapper your location sends in will earn 2 points or $.02 to the non-profit of your choice. Milestone Program

TerraCycle Canada is excited to announce a brand new program for 2013! You will now be automatically rewarded when you reach certain achievements in our new Milestone Program. The Milestone Program is an excellent opportunity for Brigade Leaders to reward their collectors for their help in recycling this waste stream.

You will automatically earn the following rewards when you reach the corresponding achievements. Please note, any rewards that you collect will take some time to process. You should expect any rewards that you earn the previous month to be shipped around the second week of following month.

REWARDS BASED ON CUMULATIVE WASTE TOTALS

You will be rewarded based on cumulative waste collections starting January 2013. Waste collection milestones can be found below. As soon as you collect the number of wrappers indicated, you will be rewarded with the following prizes.

200 wrappers = 55 TerraCycle stickers

500 wrappers = 55 recycled wrist bands

1,000 wrappers = 4 Brigade collection boxes

5,000 wrappers = 5 Brigade collection boxes, 3 upcycled cork boards, 5 Brigade posters, 30 eco folders

10,000 wrappers = 10 Brigade collection boxes, 10 upcycled cork boards, 10 Brigade posters, and 30 eco folders

REWARDS BASED ON ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY SHIPPING

We’re always working to reduce our environmental footprint and one of those ways is to encourage larger shipments of waste. Although we like to think any shipment of waste is better than it ending up in a landfill, you can truly make an eco-difference by shipping more waste in a single shipment (vs. smaller shipments).

Waste shipment milestones can be found below. Please note, shipments do NOT have to be consecutive. Complete the shipping requirements on the left to be rewarded with the corresponding prizes.

Every 3 shipments of 1,000-1,999 wrappers = 5 upcycled cork boards, and 10 Brigade posters

Every 3 shipments of 2,000-3,999 wrappers = 10 upcycled cork boards, 10 Brigade posters, and 20 recycled wrist bands

Every 3 shipments of 4,000+ wrappers = 15 upcycled cork boards, 20 Brigade posters, and 50 recycled wrist bands

Shipping your waste for free

This recycling program is completely free. There are no signup or participation fees, and the shipping is covered by Mr. Christie’s. To get started, click the “JOIN NOW” button and follow the instructions below.

Collect at least 168 grams (approximately 112) of approved cookie and cracker wrappers to fill a box or bag (see approved waste listed below). Remember to reuse a shipping box or bag to reduce your environmental footprint.
Download a free shipping label from terracycle.ca. To a acquire a pre-paid label, simply access your TerraCycle account online, click “SHIP US YOUR WASTE,” and follow the prompts.
Ship the box to TerraCycle by affixing the pre-paid postage label and dropping it off at a UPS location.
